Ground Water Modellers – Senior & Intermediate - Calgary

Our client has immediate openings for a qualified Ground Water Modellers to work on a range of domestic and international hydrogeological projects. In order of technical importance and as a brief description of the role requirements, the position has three primary intents (i) to assist with groundwater modeling projects (using a variety of software platforms, finite element, finite difference and analytical tools), (ii) to develop and expand geological block modeling capability within the group, and (iii) to assist in GIS and spatial data management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering
  • Post-graduate degree in a related discipline is desirable, but not essential
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in physical and/or contaminant hydrogeology modelling
  • The ability to model using Feflow is essential.  Familiarity with HydroGeoSphere, SEEP/W and fractured rock modelling platforms will be advantageous
  • Familiarity with geological modelling, programming, GIS and other modelling support software is desirable.  Examples programs include Mincom® and Rockworks, ARCGIS or GRASS, Tecplot 360 and Perl or Python.
  • Experience with large-scale multi-disciplinary design projects is desirable
  • An ability to create realistic conceptual hydrogeologic models as a basis for groundwater model construction
  • Proven ability to work within multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Record of excellent project planning and execution
  • Demonstrated communication skills with clients and team-members at all levels
  • Willing and able to travel both domestically (Western Canada) and internationally
